Breast Cancer Awareness 2020: Making Strides with Reliant

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Although our efforts look a little different this year, Reliant Funding is still honoring our commitment to fight breast cancer in our own community and nationwide.

Breast cancer affects around 250,000 women and 2,300 men each year in the United States, according to the CDC. While early detection helps, the treatment path is often long and difficult. That’s why we are committed to supporting patients in their battle for health.

Just like in previous years, we are partnering with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the nation’s leading network of Breast Cancer Awareness events. Reliant is offering several creative ways to get involved in 2020 in lieu of large, in-person events like marathons.

How Reliant Funding is Helping

Reliant exists to support the dreams of small business owners by providing short-term funding solutions designed to meet your individual needs. This month, we are combining that with our mission to support Breast Cancer Awareness by donating $100 to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for each Direct New Deal signed in the month of October. The Reliant Funding team is getting active, too. Keep an eye out for Reliant employees and our families wearing pink and walking, running, or hiking locally to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Socially distanced walks and runs are still taking place all over the country to raise support and awareness of breast cancer patients.

Making Strides supports vital breast cancer research and makes a difference in the lives of patients through practical support initiatives. Cancer patients can receive a free place to stay near their treatment center to make chemo rounds a little easier. Making Strides also provides rides to chemotherapy appointments. Making Strides also supports a live 24/7 helpline for cancer patients.

These are tough times for everyone, and doubly so for those living with a serious condition like breast cancer. Most breast cancer patients undergoing treatments consequently have a weakened immune system, making them more susceptible to viruses and infections. It is more important than ever to ensure safe, reliable access to lifesaving cancer treatments.
